Executive Producer, singer-songwriter Allen Ling is an American born artist and entrepreneur who’s music career skyrocketed since his launch in 2023. Allen’s catchy tunes, thought-provoking lyrics, complex rhythms and stunning melodies connect with people’s hearts crossing over genres such as Adult Contemporary, Pop, Indie and Easy Listening. While Allen is inspired by Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys and The Cure, there’s also an unmistakable Nineties and early 2000s alt-rock flavor heard in the lush production aesthetic and guitars.
Allen Ling proved great art can come from grief, as his “Heartbreak Trilogy” ascended the music charts with lyrical storylines taken from his own tryst with love and relationships. Allen artfully produced compelling spectacularly visual music videos “Into the Ocean”, “A Name in Your Book” and “Remember” which have been celebrated with numerous international awards at film festivals.
“Remember” achieved the #1 spot on the World Indie Music and European Indie Music Charts. The track also peaked in the Top 100 of DRT Global Top 150 Independent Airplay Chart (#59), and DRT Global Top 50 Rock Airplay Chart – peaked at #19) sharing space with the likes of Foo Fighters, Metallica, Linkin Park among others.
Following “Remember”, came Allen’s 2024 release of the love ballad “Closer” in March 2024 which landed #2 in the World Indie Music Top 100 charts. “Closer” quickly passed over 1 million views on Youtube after its March 2024 tour of India with David Lopez of alternative rap-rock band Flipsyde.
How it all started…Having been a songwriter since 8th grade, Allen’s body of music compositions from 1984 to 1988 were exhumed in 2009 after encouragement from his friend Bryan “Brain” Mantia, one of the premier drummers and producer/composers in contemporary music. Allen happily produced over two dozen original songs with the production & performance team of Brain (Drum Programming and Arrangements, and Music Arrangements and live drums), and Melissa Reese (lead and background vocals, production and keyboards). Dave Lopez quickly joined the music production team and lead guitar. Sound Engineers include five-time Grammy nominated producer Cookie Marenco, Caram Costanzo (Guns N’ Roses “Chinese Democracy” album), Reto Peter (multiple Green Day records), and Oscar Olivo (DJ and EDM engineer).
The visual storytelling side to Ling is celebrated in producing his music videos and with his GenSeven Creations, a name inspired by the fact that Allen is the seventh generation descendent of Lin Zexu, a historical hero in china. GenSeven Creations’ graphic novels and children’s books are available on his website (and soon to launch on kindle) and can be found at his annual ComicCon booth. Allen’s diverse interests are reflected in his multifaceted career including as a CEO of a successful physical therapy business in California and Hawaii.
